Portsmouth Youth Cheerleading

Youth Cheerleading is back in Portsmouth!

Portsmouth Youth Cheer (PYC) is dedicated to providing girls and boys ages 5-14 with a positive and encouraging environment focused on the fundamentals of cheerleading. Athletes will learn motions, sideline cheers, jumps, tumbling and stunting skills in a safe and inclusive environment. We are a competitive cheerleading organization supporting Portsmouth Youth Football.

Coach Sam has 13 years of coaching experience across multiple programs. Coach Sam cheered for 8 years growing up in Bow, NH, where she was a 4x captain and State Runner-Up. Coach Sam joined the Clipper Ship in 2018, coaching Varsity cheer at Portsmouth High School. She’s a proud UNH graduate, works in Technology and lives in Dover, NH.

Coach Casey brings 7 years of youth coaching and 12 years of cheerleading experience to the program. Coach Casey is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and Boston College. She works at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and coaches Portsmouth High School cheerleading.

Becky Godin

Coach Becky was a competitive cheerleader for 12 years before joining the Clipper Ship. This will be her 7th year with the Portsmouth cheerleading program.

Coach Becky believes in leading by example — during practices, you can find her demonstrating motions, tumbling, stunts, and (most importantly) a positive attitude!

Coach Becky graduated from UNH in 2020. She works in oral surgery and is working towards become a dentist, herself!

Maddie Setear

This will be Maddie’s second year as a Clipper. In 2021, Maddie received her Biomedical Engineering degree from the University of Rhode Island. She currently works as an engineer, right here, in Portsmouth!

Maddie brings 10 years of competitive cheerleading experience to PYC. Her favorite thing about coaching youth cheer is seeing the beginning of lifelong friendships.

Kaylina Scott

Introducing Coach Kaylina! This will be her second year coaching our Clippers. Before beginning her coaching career, Kaylina was a competitive cheerleader for over 14 years!

Kaylina has competed on some of the biggest stages the cheer world has to offer- including the College National Cheer Competition in Daytona Beach, FL as a member of the Southern New Hampshire University Cheerleading team!

A fun fact about Kaylina is that she began cheerleading in Las Vegas, where she lived for 16 years!
